Of course, the main reason lays in the fact that we are talking about the only remained genuine mid-size SUV on the market. While most competitors turned to a unibody platform, this one remains loyal to its original, BoF nature. As you may presume, off-road performances are superior compared to rivals. Still, is there a chance to see some Toyota 4Runner 2024 changes?
Considering that the current model still makes strong sales numbers, we are pretty sure that Toyota won’t rush with the redesign. Most likely, the current generation will remain in productions for a couple of more years. This clearly indicates that the Toyota 4Runner 2024 will carry on in the same way, with familiar design and features. Still, it is always possible to see a couple of novelties in terms of standard equipment. Other than that, things will remain the same.
Toyota 4Runner 2024 Interior Space and Features
As usual, we will start with the interior space. Despite being designed primarily as off-road and utility vehicle, the 4Runner can also be quite useful as a family SUV, at least for those who don’t want to compromise in terms of off-road performances. With less than 110 inches between the axles, this SUV is smaller compared to most mid-size crossovers. It’s no wonder that base models come with just two rows of seats.
The first row is actually pretty spacious, as it offers around 41 inches of legroom. The second row isn’t that great, as you can count on just 33 inches of legroom. On the other side, you may count on a pretty generous amount of cargo space. There are more than 47 cubic feet behind the second row, while the overall cargo capacity goes up to almost 90 cubic feet, which is a pretty respectable number for the class.
The third row is optional and it increases seating capacity to 7 passengers. However, this row is cramped and definitely isn’t spacious enough to accommodate adult passengers.
Interior Quality
The 4Runner may still be great in many aspects, but the cabin definitely shows its age. Compared to modern crossovers, this cabin looks outdated. The dashboard looks very truckish, while pretty much all surfaces are made from uninspiring hard plastics.
Features
When it comes to standard equipment, we might see some additions for the Toyota 4Runner 2024. Still, most of the things will remain the same. Expect base models with things like cloth upholstery, power-adjustable seats, touchscreen interface, smartphone integration, an eight-speaker stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, voice recognition, and smartphone-linked navigation. Of course, higher trims offer much more, so you can get leather upholstery, heated seats, moonroof, 15-speaker audio system etc.

Toyota 4Runner 2024 Safety
Safety is the aspect where all Toyota models shine and new Toyota 4Runner 2024 definitely won’t be an exception. Toyota Safety Sense-P is standard. This package includes things like forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, forward automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights.
Toyota 4Runner 2024 Engine
Under the hood, we won’t see changes. You may count on a well-known 4.0-liter V6 gasoline engine, which is good for about 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes in pair with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The ride quality is typical for a BoF SUV and this model really shines off the road. On the other side, we don’t like mpg ratings, which are quite low for today’s standards. This model returns around 17 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.

Toyota 4Runner 2024 Release Date and Price
When it comes to the Toyota 4Runner 2024 release date, we don’t expect surprises. It should hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2023. The price should also remain pretty much the same, which would mean around 36.000 dollars for base models.
Redesign
Despite that the current model makes pretty good sales numbers, there’s no doubt it needs updates. Keep in mind that the legendary Ford Bronco is coming back, which should be one of the direct rivals. We count on a full redesign in the near future. According to some reports, that will happen in 2024.
For that occasion, we count on plenty of novelties. A completely new design is something we expect to see, but we are pretty sure that the new model will continue to be a genuine SUV, which rides on a body-on-frame platform. Speaking of the platform, that should be a new F1 architecture, which will be used for the whole BoF lineup of the Japanese manufacturer, including Tundra, Tacoma, Land Cruiser etc.
