Mercedes-Benz GLE 2024: Specs and Release Date. Being around for just about a year, the current generation of Mercedes-Benz’s mid-size crossover still seems very fresh. The 2023 model came completely redesigned, while the 2024 model year arrived with new hi-performance, AMG variants. It’s pretty much a certain thing that the next year won’t bring any bigger excitement. Of course, there is always room for smaller updates, in terms of new features, color options and similar things.
As we are talking about a quite fresh model on the market, it’s no wonder that the GLE is still pretty amazing in nearly every aspect. It offers an impressive engine lineup, along with hi-performance versions. Of course, the interior is among the best-looking in the class, while the comfort and ride quality is at a typical MB level. Practically, it’s hard to find any bigger downside, except for the third row, which isn’t particularly spacious. That’s a typical thing for the segment. We expect to see the Mercedes-Benz GLE 2024 sometime in the second half of the year.
Mercedes-Benz GLE 2024 Engines
The wide range of engines in the offer will carry on in the Mercedes-Benz GLE 2024 Design. Therefore, base models will continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 255 horsepower, which seems pretty much okay for daily commuting. The optional inline-six with 362 horsepower seems like a much better fit for this SUV.
For more ambitious drivers, the real deal starts with an upgraded version of this inline-six engine that puts out 429 horsepower. With this one, the GLE needs about five seconds. The next step would be a twin-turbo V8, with a max power of 483 horsepower. Finally, there is the AMG 63 version, with a max output of 603 horsepower.
Mercedes-Benz GLE 2024 Design
Design-wise, we don’t expect to see any particular change for the next year. The current generation has been around for less than two years and it rides on the company’s latest architecture, called W167. In terms of the ride quality, it’s hard to beat GLE’s great balance between sporty handling and impressive smoothness. Still, even though the crossover is fun to drive, it is far more on the other, comfort side of the spectrum.
When it comes to styling, things are pretty typical for the brand’s latest design language, which looks way better than some previous generations of MB models. Of course, there is the AMG model, which comes with several unique styling details, but also with a full load of mechanical upgrades. For the next year, the best we could see are some new color options, as we already mentioned.
Interior
Things shouldn’t change on the inside too much either. The Mercedes-Benz GLE 2024 will continue to feature one of the best looking cabins in the class, which is stylish and features super-fine materials and great overall build quality. Furthermore, all those tech goodies make the cabin look even more upscale.
When it comes to interior space and comfort in general, standard models come with two rows of seats. Both of them are impressive in terms of space and comfort. Additionally, you can get an optional third row that, as you may presume, it isn’t as spacious. It is quite tight and adult passengers will hardly find it spacious enough. For kids and teens, it will do the job for sure.

The cargo area is good for about 33.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the second-row seats upright and 74.9 of the overall cargo space. If you pick a three-row model, there is virtually no cargo space with all seats in use.
Features
Novelties in terms of standard equipment are always possible. Still, we don’t expect too many changes compared to the current model. So, the list of standard equipment will be pretty much the same. It currently includes tech goodies like a 12.3-inch touch screen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, five USB ports, HD Radio, satellite radio, and wireless device charging. Also, there are things like dual-zone climate control, sunroof, a hands-free power liftgate, keyless entry etc.
In terms of safety, all models currently come standard with things like a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, hands-free park assist, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and driver drowsiness monitoring. Additionally, you can get things like a head-up display, a surround-view parking camera system, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and adaptive headlights with automatic high beams.
Mercedes-Benz GLE 2024 Release Date and Price
Since there are no bigger changes to come, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 2024 should hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2024. The base price shouldn’t be much different compared to the current model, which starts around 55.000 dollars. Of course, key competitors are BMW X5 and Audi Q7.
