Kia Sportage 2024: Rumors and Price. The new Hyundai Tucson has been presented and we are now eagerly waiting to see a new version of its counterpart. The all-new Kia Sportage 2024 is coming later in the year and judging by the latest photos, it will look really amazing. The new generation will bring a completely new styling, with radical aesthetical changes, but that won’t be the only major change we are about to see.
Furthermore, the next generation will utilize the company’s new platform. It will bring a stiffer chassis and a lower center of gravity. Furthermore, you may count on a new palette of powertrain options, which will include both gasoline and electrified variants. In terms of size, the new model will be slightly bigger, which will provide more room on the side. Of course, the cabin will be all-new as well and it looks far more premium than before. The launch date should be scheduled for the summer.
Kia Sportage 2024 Engines
When it comes to the powertrain, we presume that the new Kia Sportage 2024 will mimic the new generation of its corporal sibling. Therefore, base models should continue with a familiar 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, which puts out around 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque.
Of course, you may count on two hybrid versions as well, both based on a 1.6-liter turbo-four. The first one will be a classic hybrid vehicle, equipped with a 44.2-kilowatt electric motor and a 1.49-kilowatt-hour battery pack. The total output goes around 226 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
When it comes to the PHEV version, it will feature a more powerful electric motor, as well as a bigger battery. While the exact numbers are yet to come, some sources suggest a max output of 260 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The max all-electric range should go around 25-30 miles.
Kia Sportage 2024 Redesign
The all-new, fifth generation of the popular compact crossover is about to bring all kinds of novelties. Of course, the first thing we should mention is the platform, which is codenamed NQ5. As we’ve just mentioned, the new model will feature a much stiffer chassis, as well as a lower center of gravity. All these promises better driving characteristics. In terms of size, the new model will most likely be just slightly bigger compared to the current generation.
To get a clear picture, the outgoing model is good for about 105.1 inches in wheelbase. It measures 176.4 inches in total length. For comparison, the new Tucson features 0.4 inches more between the axles. We count on an inch more or something like that in terms of the overall length, while the new model will also be wider and slightly taller.
Styling
Without any doubt, this will be the most notable part of the new Kia Sportage 2024. As you can see in the photos, the new model will bring radical styling changes. Unlike the current generation, which looks pretty conventional, the new one will come with equally exciting changes as the corporal sibling, Hyundai Tucson. It will do it in its own way and from what we can see, the front end will be the most interesting. There, you may count on a pretty massive grille. It now comes integrated with headlights and features super-sharp angles, unlike the previous model, which was rather rounded.

The rest of the vehicle doesn’t feature such a radical departure from the previous generation. Still, we can easily notice that the Kia Sportage 2024 taillights feature a rather horizontal shape, while the overall appearance looks muscular, thanks to pretty big protrusions around wheels.
Interior
While the outgoing model features nothing more than a decent cabin design, the new one looks really promising. As we can see in the photos, the dashboard features a more upscale appearance. It is highlighted by massive screens at the center console and instrument cluster. Also, the materials and color schemes look far better, though it’s hard for us to judge these things before we actually get inside the new model.
As we already mentioned, the new model will be slightly bigger than the outgoing one. That promises more space on the inside as well, especially in the second row. Still, we have to say that the outgoing model already seems fairly decent in terms of passenger space. The cargo area seems like a bigger issue, as the outgoing model offers below-average ratings for the class. We expect the new model to be better in this aspect.
Kia Sportage 2024 Release Date and Price
The latest reports suggest that the Kia Sportage 2024 will be unveiled in April, while sales should start sometime in summer. When it comes to the price, base versions will go around 25.000 dollars. The competition in the segment is extremely tough and some of the key players are models like RAV4, CR-V, Escape etc.
