GMC Yukon 2024: Release Date and Diesel. After the recent redesign, it is pretty much certain that the GMC Yukon 2024 will carry on in the same. Considering that it’s about to represent the second production year of the current generation, it’s obvious that more important changes won’t happen. The best we could see are minor updates, those that come in the forms of new features, color options and similar things.
Other than that, things will remain the same. This large SUV will continue to deliver the same level of quality, which displays in several different aspects. For example, it offers an attractive, rugged styling, which is perfectly combined with the nicely designed interior. The cabin is also very spacious, while the cargo volume is incredible. Furthermore, we like the lineup of capable powertrain options, while the list of standard and available features is quite long.
Considering that there are no significant changes to come for the next year, we presume that the launch date will be scheduled for the last quarter of the year.
GMC Yukon 2024 Engines
The GMC Yukon 2024 will carry on with three familiar engine options. Base versions will continue to use a well-known 5.3-liter V8. It puts out around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. While it has more than enough power to move this SUV with ease, more ambitious drivers can also pick a bigger 6.2-liter V8, which is good for about 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
Finally, there is the recently introduced 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, which puts out around 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The latter is the reason why it moves this large SUV with ease, despite the obvious lack of horsepower.
All three engines come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
GMC Yukon 2024 Redesign
As we are talking about the second production year of the current generation, it’s obvious that we won’t see anything spectacular. The GMC Yukon 2024 will carry on in the same way, offering an attractive design based on proven mechanical solutions. Still, keep in mind that the new chassis setup is more refined and also includes an independent rear suspension, which has a highly positive impact on the ride quality. The new model is notably lighter compared to the previous model. You’ll definitely notice this once you sit behind the wheel.
Visually, the new generation looks amazing. So, it’s hard to expect anything new for the next year, even in terms of color options. Of course, the range-topping Denali trim will continue with a plethora of unique styling solutions but won’t be the only one with exclusive features. There is also the AT4 model, which looks unique and also comes with some off-road hardware.
Interior
Once again, we don’t expect to see bigger changes. The recent redesign has brought a lot of improvement on the inside and there is really nothing to complain about. The overall interior quality is way better than before. Materials are nice, as well as fin & finish. We like the dashboard design, which comes in two layouts. Standard models come with the dash that features a tablet-like infotainment screen, while the Denali model uses a more upscale-looking integrated unit.
Although the overall quality is pretty good, the best thing about this cabin is the amount of space. There is a tremendous amount of passenger room in all three rows and eight adults can fit inside with ease. The cargo area is even more impressive and offers 25.5 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 72.6 cubic feet behind the second row, and 122.9 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded down.
Features
The next year may bring a couple of novelties in terms of standard equipment. Still, we are pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same. Therefore, all models should come standard with goodies like tri-zone climate control, keyless entry, 10.2-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six speakers, satellite radio, HD Radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, six USB ports, and Bluetooth. Additionally, you can get things like a panoramic sunroof, power-sliding center console, navigation etc.

When it comes to safety features, the current model comes standard with things like a rearview camera, a rear-seat reminder, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, front and rear parking sensors. Optionally, you can get a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, a rear camera mirror, rear pedestrian alert etc.
GMC Yukon 2024 Release Date and Price
We expect to see the GMC Yukon 2024 sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 51.000 dollars. The competition is pretty tough and includes models like Ford Expedition, Toyota Sequoia, Nissan Armada, etc.
