Chevy Traverse 2024: Specs and RS. Chevy’s biggest crossover has always been much more about practicality than style. The Chevy Traverse 2024 won’t be much different, despite its getting a mid-cycle refresh. This facelift was originally planned for the 2022 model year but eventually moved for the next year, due to the Coronavirus outbreak. It will bring a lot of interesting things, starting from the updated styling, new tech features, new safety features and similar things. Still, the core of the vehicle will remain the same.
This means you may count on a familiar layout, which has a lot of great things to offer, despite the obvious drawbacks. Of all, it offers one of the most spacious cabins in the class, which significantly exceeds segment standards. We like the smooth and powerful V6 engine, which ensures solid driving dynamics, but also provides more than decent mpg ratings. The best thing is that all these come at a pretty reasonable price.
Of course, such an affordable price also means several drawbacks. In this case, the main complaints go to interior quality and not particularly engaging handling.
We expect sales to start sometime in summer.
Chevy Traverse 2024 Engine
The Chevy Traverse 2024 brings no changes under the hood. So, you may count on a familiar 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 310 horsepower, through a 9-speed automatic transmission. Driving dynamics are pretty good, though handling could be better. Still, the best thing is that such power comes in a combination with pretty good fuel economy, which goes around 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.
Chevy Traverse 2024 Redesign
When it comes to the overall design, the most obvious changes are definitely those in terms of styling. The Chevy Traverse 2024 comes with a new look, which includes a lot of new details, heavily inspired by smaller Blazer, but also by new Suburban and Tahoe models. This particularly refers to the front face, which includes a new grille, new LED headlights, bumper etc. We particularly like daytime running lights, which come integrated with turn signals. On the other end, you can find new taillights.
On the other side, the mechanical aspect of the SUV remains the same. The Chevy Traverse 2024 continues with the same layout, based on a well-known C1 platform. Among many other things, this also means FWD layout. Add to this not very precise handling, as well as not particularly refined suspension setup and you get a vehicle that doesn’t offer a particularly great driving experience. Still, we have to admit that such a thing isn’t something that potential buyers would expect, as this model is usually seen as a more attractive alternative to minivans, thanks to its spacious and practical interior.
Interior
On the inside, there more space and, practicality, 99.9% of users will ever need. With nearly 121 inches in wheelbase, it’s obvious that there is plenty of room for passengers. All three rows are generous with space and accommodate adults with ease. Even the third stands pretty amazing in this aspect. Another important thing about the third row is that it features three seats, so the seating capacity goes up to 8 passengers. That is something most rivals don’t offer.

When it comes to the cargo area, you may count on about 23 cubic feet of room behind the third row of seats, 57.8 cubic feet with the third-row seats folded, and 98.2 cubic feet. Those are some of the highest ratings in the class and just a few models, such as Honda Pilot and VW Atlas, offer similar amounts of space in this segment.
The amount of interior space is, obviously, huge and the cabin is very practical but that doesn’t mean there are no drawbacks. We can complain a lot about the interior quality, which isn’t on par with rivals. Most models in the class look nicer, feature finer materials and have better seats. Still, we don’t believe that those who are looking for a vehicle like this care too much about such things.
Features
This update brings a couple of interesting novelties in terms of standard equipment. Additions to the list of standard safety features are definitely among the highlights. The Chevy Traverse 2024 will come with automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlamps on the list of standard equipment.
The list of novelties also includes a couple of tech goodies, but most of them will remain reserved for higher trim levels. For example, there is a slightly bigger 8-inch infotainment screen, but the familiar 7-inch unit will remain standard. Also, an 8-inch screen on the instrument cluster is a novelty that will be available in higher trim levels only.

We expect to see a Chevy Traverse 2024 in summer, with a starting price of around 32.000 dollars.
