Peugeot 4008 2024: Everything You Need To Know So Far. Although it isn’t a particularly familiar nameplate, the 4008 is actually one of the first crossovers from the French company. It originally arrived in 2012, at the time when the management still believed more in minivans. They didn’t put enough attention to its development, so the original 4008 was actually based on the old Mitsubishi ASX. It was small and not particularly fun to drive. It didn’t look great either. Therefore, it’s no wonder it was discontinued in 2017, leaving behind unimpressive sales numbers. However, things could change soon, as the Peugeot 4008 2024 has been rumored.
At this point, we don’t know much about this model. Still, the current lineup clearly indicates that it will be positioned between the compact and mid-size segments. This leads to a more premium terrain, to the terrain of coupe crossovers, which are becoming more popular these days. As we already mentioned, the Peugeot 4008 2024 is expected to arrive sometime in the second half of the year.
Peugeot 4008 2024 Engines
This aspect shouldn’t bring any particular surprise. Base models should use a familiar 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine, which is good for about 130 horsepower. You may count on a bigger 1.6-liter turbo-four as well, which will probably come in two output variants, with either 160 or 180 horses. A diesel version is expected too, but just one. That should be a familiar 1.5-liter BlueHDI, which puts out around 130 horsepower.
Still, the biggest novelty should be a plug-in hybrid version, which would use the same 1.6-liter engine, but a couple with an electric motor or two. Base versions will feature an FWD layout with around 225 horsepower. On the other side, AWD models would come with the additional electric motor on the rear axle, with a total output of 300 horsepower.
Peugeot 4008 2024 Design
As we’ve just mentioned, we don’t know too much about the Peugeot 4008 2024. The company is still quiet even about its arrival. We can only speculate about design characteristics. The first thing that comes to mind is the overall layout and we presume it will share a lot of things with the compact 3008. The two models will be very similar, especially in terms of mechanics. Moreover, we also count on the same wheelbase.

The obvious difference will be in terms of the styling. While the 3008 features a typical SUV layout, the new Peugeot 4008 2024 would rather feature a sloping roof design, which gives that coupe-like appearance. The French manufacture aims at the premium segment, at models like BMW X2, and it could be a great alternative in terms of the price. On the other side, the front end should look pretty much the same as in the conventional counterpart.
Interior
On the inside, the new Peugeot 4008 2024 will utilize the same dashboard as the 3008. This brings us to the recent update when we saw a couple of nice novelties, starting from a new infotainment screen and a revised digital instrument cluster. Also, there are new color schemes in the offer, while materials have been improved as well.
On the other side, the obvious difference will be in terms of passenger space. Thanks to the sloping roof, the amount of headroom in the second row will be notably smaller, so it’s hard to say whether the Peugeot 4008 2024 is about to be adult-friendly or not. The cargo area will be notably smaller.
Peugeot 4008 2024 Release Date
The Peugeot 4008 2024 is still just a rumor and we are still waiting for the official confirmation. However, rumors suggest it could arrive already in the second half of the year.
