BMW X1 2024: Redesign and Pics. The current generation of BMW’s entry-level crossover has been around for nearly six years and while some rivals are notably younger, it still competes pretty well in the segment of subcompact luxury cars. Still, the Bavarian company won’t hesitate to offer a completely new model, which could come already as the BMW X1 2024. At this point, we are still waiting to hear something more precise from the officials, but this scenario sounds more than likely, especially if we consider the recent redesign of the 1 Series hatchback.
We expect to see nothing but evolutionary changes on the BMW X1 2024. The test mule has been spotted on the road and despite the camouflage, it features a quite similar overall shape to its predecessor. We expect that the new cabin will closely resemble the hatchback sibling, while the powertrain lineup should include a couple of upgrades.
BMW X1 2024 Engines
When it comes to the powertrain, the new BMW X1 2024 will bring some improvements for sure. This particularly refers to the base engine, a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four. It should get a notable power boost, just like the 1 Series, and feature a max output of around 260 horsepower.
We expect to see the M-badged version as well, which should feature a max output of more than 300 horsepower. Both engines will come paired with 8-speed automatic transmission.
Finally, we expect that the recently introduced plug-in hybrid version will carry on in the pretty much same way. This would mean a system based on a 1.5-liter turbo inline-three, which features a max output of around 225 horsepower. Allegedly, this version will be offered in North America as well.
BMW X1 2024 Redesign
The upcoming redesign will bring the third generation of this fancy crossover. From what we know so far, most of the changes will be evolutionary and this refers to the platform as well. We are about to see an updated version of the UKL2 platform, which means that the BMW X1 2024 will remain an untypical BMW, with a front-wheel-drive layout. Of course, all-wheel drive will be available as well, while we count on a couple of notable improvements with the new model. This particularly refers to the ride quality, as we expect that the Bavarian manufacturer will offer a couple of variants with a softer and gentler ride.
Exterior
As we already mentioned, the testing model has been spotted on the road and while it still wears a complete camouflage, we can still see some of the details on it. Of all, the overall shape may look similar, but it comes with a couple of notable differences. Of all, the new model looks bolder and a little bit more rugged. You can notice a more upright rear end, while overhangs seem shorter than before.

When it comes to styling, we expect nothing but an evolutionary approach. This means pretty much the same front face as in the new 1 Series, which has brought a little bit sharper face, with a more prominent grille and headlights. More details will be known once the test mule takes off some of its camo.
Interior
Changes on the inside are quite predictable. We presume that the dashboard will be the same as in the new hatchback sibling, which has brought a couple of novelties compared to the previous generation. The new dash looks more modern, while the quality is at an even higher level. You may count on loads of new technologies.
What’s also important is that, although we don’t know the exact dimensions, the BMW X1 2024 will remain one of the most practical models in the class. The cabin will remain generous with space, capable of accommodating adults in both rows of seats. We expect that the new model will remain among class rivals in terms of cargo volume.
BMW X1 2024 Release Date and Price
The BMW X1 2024 will arrive either in late 2024 or in the first half of 2024. We don’t expect to see significant changes in power compared to the current model, which starts at around 36.000 dollars. Of course, models like Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3 will remain key competitors.
