Subaru Ascent 2024: Release Date and Update. The very first time we saw Ascent was a couple of years ago and it came as Subaru’s biggest crossover ever. It is still in the first generation, so it’s hard to talk about the production cycle and updates. Still, if we look at other Subaru models, the Japanese manufacturer usually does complete redesigns every five years. On the other side, bigger updates within the production cycle are usually reserved for the fourth production year. The Subaru Ascent 2024 is about to represent the fourth production year of the current, first generation. We expect to see a mid-cycle update.
At this moment, the details are still unavailable, but we expect to see changes that are bigger compared to regular yearly updates. New features, we could also see some tweaks in terms of styling, but keep in mind that Subaru is pretty conservative in this aspect. Also, we wouldn’t exclude the possibility to see some mechanical tweaks as well. Also, the Subaru Ascent 2024 could arrive a little bit earlier than usual, though definitely not before the second half of 2024.
Subaru Ascent 2024 Engine Changes
under the hood are not expected, at least when it comes to the engine. Of course, the Subaru Ascent 2024 will carry on with a 2.4-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. It comes in pair with a CVT gearbox, which does a job pretty well. Certainly, the AWD layout is standard.
The amount of power is quite typical for the class, but most rivals use a V6 engine, so it’s no marvel that the Ascent’s obvious advantage is fuel economy, even though we are talking about a model that comes standard with all-wheel drive. You may count on about 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, better than most FWD rivals.
Subaru Ascent 2024 Redesign
As we already mentioned, the fourth production year is when Subaru usually comes with bigger updates. Still, knowing the brand, we don’t expect to see anything significant. Most of the things are about to remain the same and that particularly refers to base design characteristics. The Subaru Ascent 2024 will continue to ride on Subaru’s new modular platform and most of the mechanics are about to remain the same. Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see some smaller tweaks, in terms of suspension, drivetrain and similar things.
When it comes to styling, smaller tweaks are always possible. Still, we doubt that the Japanese manufacturer will come with anything bigger than a slightly updated front fascia. Simply, most of the styling will remain the same. Certainly, we count on things like new color options, new wheels etc.
Interior
Bigger interior changes are not expected either, especially if we consider the current cabin’s look. Simply, this crossover features a well-built cabin, full of quality materials and a very good final touch. It’s easily on par with other models in the class, which wasn’t always the case with Subaru interiors. In this particular case, some materials turned out to be quite durable and promise years of exploitation.

Given the model’s size, it’s no marvel that the amount of space is pretty generous. The first two rows are particularly comfortable, while the third one is typically tight for the class. Also, we really like the driving position, as well as the visibility, which is good in all directions.
The cargo volume is another strong point of this crossover. You may count on about 17.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the last row, 47.5 cubic feet behind the second row, and 86.5 cubic feet behind the first-row seats. Those are above-average numbers for the class, while there are also numerous smaller storage areas around the cabin, which makes this SUV even more practical.
Features
Of course, novelties within this aspect are also expected. Still, keep in mind that the current model is already equipped pretty well and that’s hard to expect some significantly longer lists of standard and available equipment. The current model already comes standard with goodies like tri-zone automatic climate control, a 6.5-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, six speakers, satellite radio, Bluetooth etc.
The potential additions to the list of standard equipment are currently on the list of options, naturally. A few of the highlights are things like an 8-inch touch screen, a Wi-Fi hot spot, two USB ports in the third row, navigation, second-row climate control, keyless entry, push-button start etc.
Subaru Ascent 2024 Release Date and Price
We expect that the Subaru Ascent 2024 will arrive sometime in the second half of the next year. When it comes to the price, base models should go around 33.000 dollars. Some of the key rivals are models like Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX-9 etc.
