Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024: Redesign and Upgrades. The upcoming redesign of the famous SUV will bring a lot of novelties and one of the most important is that the new model will finally get the third row. Although a mid-size crossover, with quite big proportions, the Grand Cherokee has remained a five-seated for a much longer time than most of us expected. This will finally change with the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 Redesign The next-generation will come with a bigger size and more space on the inside. This promises more space on the inside, though we can say that the current model is already quite comfortable.
Of course, that won’t be the only major novelty we are about to see in the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024. The company prepares a new platform, as well as big novelties in terms of aesthetics. There is a chance to see some pretty interesting novelties under the hood. The new model will hit the market in the next year.
Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 Gets the Third Row
This is definitely one of the most important novelties that we are about to see in the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024. It is still unclear whether the third row will be a standard or optional feature. More likely, base models will carry on with two rows, while the third one will be optional.
As we’ve just mentioned, the new model will be bigger, which means we have pretty big expectations when it comes to the third row. The current model measures more than 114 inches in wheelbase. There are many rivals that feature shorter wheelbase, including the Honda Pilot, which offers a pretty decent amount of legroom in all three rows. We expect the same from the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 third row. The current model measures around 40.3 inches of legroom in the first row, while the second row is good for about 38.3 inches. These are pretty typical ratings for the class, so we don’t expect bigger changes in this aspect. The third row will benefit from a longer wheelbase most.
Cargo area is another aspect of the new model that should benefit from the bigger size. The current model offers around 38 cubic feet behind the second row and a little bit more than 68 cubic feet of overall cargo capacity. These are decent but still below-average numbers for the class, so we definitely want to see more from the new Grand Cherokee.
Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 Platform
Another huge novelty that is about to come with this redesign is a new platform. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 will ride on an Italian architecture, known as Giorgio. If you are familiar with Alfa Romeo models, you know it underprints models like Giulia and Stelvio. For this occasion, the platform will be significantly stretched, but that doesn’t mean it will lose anything from its excellent driving characteristics. We count on excellent handling and overall performance.
Styling and Interior Design
On the other side, we don’t expect to see such radical changes in terms of aesthetics. We presume that the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 will use a traditional approach in designing the new face. We count on subtle changes and on the combination of conventional headlights and large and massive grille with famous vertical bars. The rest of the vehicle should keep familiar space as well, though the new model will be notably bigger. The outgoing model measures 114.8 in wheelbase, while the new one should add a couple more.

When it comes to the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 interior, we have pretty big expectations. More space and an additional third row, we also expect to see a completely new dashboard layout. This model never struggled with interior quality, so expectations from the new model are pretty big. New shapes, finer materials and loads of hi-tech features are things we expect to see. Some reports suggest a completely digital instrument cluster, as well as a large touchscreen at the center stack.
Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 Engine
Once again, we count on a wide range of powertrain options. Moreover, the offer should be even wider in the new model. Most likely, base models will carry on with a familiar 3.6-liter V6 engine, though it will probably get a new eTorque system. The same thing is expected from the 5.7-liter V8 engines.
The situation about the 6.4-liter V8 engine, which would power the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 SRT model is still unclear, as there is a chance to see a new turbo six-cylinder engine, which would come in various output variants, including a performance-oriented model with around 525 horsepower.
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT
The Trackhawk is expected as well and we don’t believe that some bigger changes will come. This model uses a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with an impressive 707 horsepower.
We count on a diesel version, which should carry on with a familiar 3.0-liter inline-six.
We count on Jeep Grand Cherokee Hybrid, which should use a system similar to one we can find in Chrysler Pacifica, though a 2.0-liter turbo hybrid version seems possible.
Release Date
The all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 is expected to hit the market sometime in the second half of next year.
