BMW X5 2024: Facelift and Hybrid. The current generation of the popular mid-size luxury crossover is currently in the third production years and if you recognize with the policy of the Bavarian manufacturer, you know very well that the next year will bring a facelift. For those who aren’t that familiar with this carmaker, an obvious proof is a big number of spy shots that appeared recently, which show a test mule under the camouflage. Therefore, we can easily see that the BMW X5 2024 will come with some pretty nice changes.
At this point, we know for sure that this update will bring novelties in terms of styling. This particularly refers to the front end, but we a number of tweaks are expected in other areas too. When it comes to the interior design, we don’t the details, but we presume that the new model will get a new infotainment system. On the other side, the powertrain is about to remain the same.
BMW X5 2024 Engines
The engine lineup will remain the same but each engine, except for the PHEV, will get a new mild-hybrid system that adds power and torque, and also improves fuel economy. Base models will carry on with a 3.0-liter inline-six. It puts out around 335 horsepower withough the new mild-hybrid system. The next one is a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, which puts out around 523 horsepower. Finally, there is the M-badged model, which uses the same V8 unit but is tuned to 600 horsepower. You can even upgrade it with the Competition package, which adds 17 more horses.
When it comes to the plug-in hybrid version, things will remain the same. You may count on a combination of a 3.0-liter inline-six and an electric motor, which provides a total output of 389 horsepower. You may count on 30 miles of the all-electric range.
BMW X5 2024 Facelift
The upcoming update will be mostly about aesthetics. The BMW X5 2024 will get an updated styling and we can already tell that changes won’t be that drastic. As you may know, there were numerous reports in the last number of months that were suggesting a similar design approach to the new M3 and M4 models, characterized by the infamous huge grille. Although still under heavy camouflage, the testing model clearly shows that, fortunately, that won’t happen and that the BMW X5 2024 will keep the grille normal.
From what we can see under the camo, the biggest change will be a new bumper, which features a slightly revised shape and looks more aggressive. Other than that, we don’t expect to see anything significant and the Bavarian designers will be subtle as usual. The rear end may hide a number of tweaks as well. Certainly, we also trust typical updates like new wheels, new color options etc.
Interior Bigger changes on the inside are not expected. The dashboard should keep the same design. It is characterized by a quite conservative look, while materials and overall build quality are at a pretty high level. For the next year, the biggest novelty could be the updated infotainment system. Still, the officials are still quiet on this matter.
BMW X5 2024 Interior
Other than that, you may depend on a familiar cabin layout, which offers two rows of seats in standard configuration. Both rows are generous with space, while we particularly like the driving position, which is excellent. The three-row version is available, though kids are probably the only ones that could find some use from it.
Obviously, the numbers will remain the same in the case of the cargo area. You may count on 33.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and 72.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat.
