Ford Explorer 2024: Hybrid and Price. After the launch of the new generation in 2023, we don’t expect too many changes for the Ford Explorer 2024. Well, this vehicle has everything. There is the base model that is affordable for fans of the seven-seaters. The company offers a high-output ST version and the hybrid as a star of the lineup.
Plenty of engines are also followed by the wide offer of features and trim levels. The new Ford Explorer 2024 is coming in the XLT variant as the base one. If you are looking for more equipment, then there are Limited or Platinum model. On the other hand, you can upgrade the base engine with some additional options.
Ford Explorer 2024 Platinum
The ST version is delivering the most power, but it is not the most exclusive SUV in the lineup. The hybrid engine is available only for the Limited edition. The Ford Explorer 2024 Platinum offers luxury details and features that will make the base price jump to nearly $60,000 with the destination.
The interior comes with notable upgrades, such as perforated leather and unique colors. Also, there are advanced driver aid systems, including Active Park Assist 2.0. Premium Technology package is standard (10-inch vertical touchscreen display, Bang & Olufsen 14-speaker audio). Also, this trim level is getting power by a 3.0-liter V6 engine. The towing capacity is the best in the lineup with 5,600 lbs.
Explorer Produces 300 hp, and Up To 400 hp
It is up to you which version is the most suitable. The base configuration combines a new 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with turbochargers and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Drivers are getting 300 hp, which are going to 2WD or 4WD (another choice).
The highlight of the upcoming SUV is the electric system. We got used to seeing Toyota Highlander as the only hybrid in the segment. Explorer is now beating its fiercest rival. A 3.3-liter engine, in combination with an electric motor can provide 318 hp.

If you live in Europe, the PHEV version comes with a 3.0 turbocharged V6. Alone, it creates 350 hp. Its electric battery adds 100 hp more for 450 hp. Euro-spec models also add 600 lb-ft of torque.
A 3.0-liter engine is available for the Platinum trim. For this configuration, it delivers 365 hp and 380 lb-ft (single turbocharger). A four-wheel drive is standard, and the towing capacity with this one raises to 5,600 pounds. The base variant returns 5,300 lbs, while the hybrid setup is not the best one if you want to haul. Still, 5,000 pounds is a respectable return.
Ford Explorer 2024 ST
We mentioned the 400 hp version. It is a high-output Ford Explorer 2024 ST version with the max speed of 143 mph. A 3.0-liter V6 uses a twin-turbo system, which also produces 413 pound-feet. Besides the engine updates, the ST badge also brings a lot of updates for the styling. The unique grille is definitely something that will make the SUV stand out. The performance-oriented model also adds a panoramic sunroof with twin panels, leather interior with perforations and silver stitches, 20-inch wheels, and many more.
Colors (Exterior and Interior)
There are three types of paint jobs for the new Explorer. The base colors are Black, Blue, Silver, White, and Magnetic. Buyers can pick them without paying extra. But, for $395, they can purchase Rich Copper and Rapid Red paints. There is also one premium color called Star White, and it will cost you $595.
Sandstone and Ebony schemes are available for either cloth or leather upholstery inside the SUV. The late one is the only option for the ST model, while the Platinum version comes with two-tone Ebony or light Sandstone perforated leather.
How Much is the new Ford Explorer 2024?
With no changes to the new-generation model, the prices will remain the same. The company could add a new trim level, but it is too early to have these details. So, the base SUV will cost $37,000, and a lower trim is pretty likely to happen. The next offer is Limited, with the price tag more than $11,000 above the base one. There is room for a new model between these two. The top of the lineup is reserved for the ST ($ 55,000) and Platinum ($ 58,500) as the most-equipped SUVs.
