Typically for Mercedes, the second production year has brought AMG models. Therefore, we are pretty sure that things won’t be that dynamic in the next year. Most likely, the Mercedes-Benz GLS 2024 will come without significant changes.
This means you may count on one of the most refined SUVs on the market. It offers an incredible ride quality, along with a super-luxurious interior and an impressive level of overall comfort. Furthermore, there are tons of advanced tech features, while the engine lineup is as impressive and includes all kinds of gasoline and diesel options.
Mercedes-Benz GLS 2024 Engines
The engine lineup definitely won’t change in the Mercedes-Benz GLS 2024. We are about to see the same offer, which starts with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine that puts out around 362 horsepower and delivers more than satisfying performances. The GLS 580 comes with a well-known 4.0-liter twin-turbo, with a max output of 483 horsepower.
The German manufacturer recently added the AMG-badge version, which features 603 horsepower. There is also a Maybach version with 550 horsepower.
All engines come coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission. All engines are equipped with a mild-hybrid system, called EQ Boost, which some power and a pretty significant amount of torque.

As we’ve just mentioned, the Mercedes-Benz GLS 2024 shouldn’t feature any significant design changes. The current model is still pretty fresh and competes amazingly well on the market. Therefore, mechanical changes definitely won’t happen. This model rides on the latest X167 platform, which ensures impressive ride quality. This SUV is mostly focused on comfort, though driving dynamics are pretty impressive.
The new generation features 123.4 inches in wheelbase, which is 2.3 inches more compared to the previous generation. Styling-wise, the Mercedes-Benz GLS 2024 will carry on with the same design, which has brought rather evolutionary changes, compared to the previous generation. The styling is rather on the conservative side, but that’s a quite typical thing for the segment. We doubt that the next year’s model will bring any particular change. Still, minor yearly updates can bring all kinds of tweaks, including new color options, wheels etc. The Mercedes-Benz GLS 2024 could come with some of them.
Interior
Once again, only minor updates are possible. Simply, the current model is fresh and looks really amazing from the inside. The overall build quality is at an impressive level, while the materials are super fine. The dashboard looks very stylish, thanks to lots of stylish lines and a full load of latest tech features.
We particularly like the seats, which are beyond impressive in terms of comfort. The leather and stitching also look really nice, so it’s really hard to find any complaint about them. The Mercedes-Benz GLS 2024 will carry on with three rows of seats as standard, where the first two rows are really impressive in terms of passenger space. Both offer more than 40 inches of legroom, while the third row is good for about 35 inches.

The cargo area is far from the biggest in class, but the numbers are actually pretty decent. You may count on about 17.4 cubic feet of space with all of its seats up, 48.7 cubic feet behind the second row and a maximum of 84.7 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded down.
Features
There is definitely a chance to see a couple of novelties in this aspect but we are pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same. The current model comes standard with a sunroof, quad-zone automatic climate control, remote start, and a parking damage detector, as well as with tech goodies like a 12.3-inch touch screen, a touchpad controller, navigation, Bluetooth, eight USB ports, a 13-speaker Burmester audio system, satellite radio, HD Radio, an in-car communication system, wireless device charging, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
The list of options is as impressive. Some of the highlights are tech goodies like MBUX interior assistant, a 7-inch MBUX tablet for the second row, a 26-speaker Burmester audio system, second-row wireless device charging, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. You can get things like a panoramic roof, five-zone climate control etc.
Mercedes-Benz GLS 2024 Release Date and Price
Considering that there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the Mercedes-Benz GLS 2024 will come sometime in the last quarter of 2024. We don’t expect bigger changes in price either, so base models should go around 77.000 dollars. When it comes to the competition, the key rival is, of course, BMW X7 but we should also mention some body-on-frame competitors, like Navigator, Escalade, Lexus LX etc.
