According to the latest reports, the new generation is on its way and it should hit the market by the end year. The upcoming redesign is about to bring a lot of novelties, starting from a completely new engine lineup, new chassis, aesthetics, tech features and more. The new model should come as the Toyota Land Cruiser 2024. We expect it to be at least as successful as its predecessor.
The new generation, which will be called 300 Series, will bring tons of novelties, as we already mentioned. It will be redesigned for the first time since 2007. So, it’s no wonder expectations from the upcoming model are pretty huge. We expect it will surpass the capabilities of the current generation, but also significantly improve on-road ride quality.

This aspect will bring some of the biggest novelties, as we are about to see a completely new engine lineup. The good-old V8 will be replaced and it looks like the new model will feature a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 from Lexus in its base variant. This engine puts out around 414 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque and it will come in pair with a new 10-speed automatic transmission.
Another big novelty will be a hybrid version of the new SUV. This system will probably be based on a familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine. Most sources suggest a max output of around 450 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. The company allegedly works on a new 3.3-liter turbodiesel, which will be offered in a certain part of the world.

A whole bunch of novelties is expected to come with this redesign and one of the first things that come to mind is the platform. Of course, we expect to see a body-on-frame version of the new TNGA platform, just like the new Tundra. The new architecture will bring improvements in various aspects and one of the first things that come to mind is weight reduction. We expect that the Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 will be significantly lighter. This means better driving characteristics, better efficiency and more.
Another big improvement we expect to see with this redesign is a lower center of gravity. It will come in a combination with a new, more complex suspension setup. The final result should come in the form of much better handling and overall on-road driving experience, without sacrificing legendary off-road performances.
Exterior
Of course, this redesign will also bring significant novelties in terms of the exterior design. We presume that exterior dimensions are one of the aspects that interests you a lot, considering that the current generation features a rather modest size for the segment. It features just around 112.2 inches in wheelbase. This may be great in terms of off-road performances but doesn’t seem particularly good in terms of the interior space. Still, we presume that the Japanese manufacturer will tend to provide the best possible off-road performances. So, the actual size of the Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 300 probably won’t be much bigger compared to the current generation.

When it comes to the styling, pretty much all reports we can find on the network suggest an evolutionary approach. That seems perfectly reasonable, considering that the current model still looks pretty good, despite the age. Naturally, loads of modern details will be implemented but the overall shape shouldn’t change too much.
Interior
Big changes will come on the inside. The current model looks good but not as luxurious as most rivals. Simply, it has been around for 13 years, and no one can remain fresh-looking after all those years. That’s why we count on completely new aesthetics, with loads of modern design solutions and the latest tech features. The build quality and materials are already on an excellent level. Nevertheless, things could become even better with the new generation.
The thing that the Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 will definitely have to improve is the amount of passenger space. The current model features a quite spacious and comfortable first row. Things aren’t that great in the second and especially in the third row. The same thing goes for the cargo area, which is quite small for the segment. Some improvements will certainly come but, as we already mentioned, the new model probably won’t feature much bigger dimensions. So, the amount of interior space probably won’t increase that much.
