The details for the plug-in hybrid model are still unknown, so we can only speculate about the setup. On the other side, the overall layout isn’t about to be much different than to the rest of the lineup. You may count on the same styling, which brings a completely new approach, with a lot of inspiration taken from the flagship Telluride. We expect to see Kia Sorento PHEV 2024 by the end of the year.
Engine Options
Kia Sorento PHEV 2024, the new crossover will be available with several more powertrain options. We’ve already mentioned the hybrid version based on a 1.6-liter engine, with a max output of 227 horsepower. Also, we count on a powerful 2.5-liter turbo engine that delivers pretty respectable 277 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
In other parts of the world, including Europe, we will see a familiar 2.2-liter diesel engine in the offer. It will come in a new version, with a max output of 198 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque.
Kia Sorento PHEV 2024 Specs
The new Kia Sorento PHEV 2024 is a certain thing, the exact details about the powertrain setup are still a mystery. While details about the rest of the lineup are already familiar. There will be a classic hybrid version as well. This model will be based on a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and paired with a pretty capable 44.2 electric motors. So, the total output will go around 227 horsepower. The Kia Sorento PHEV 2024 might use this setup as the basis, though we would definitely expect to see upgrades.

Of all, we count on a much bigger battery package, probably between 20 and 25 kWh. Such capacity would provide a pretty decent all-electric range. Such capacity would also leave space for a more potent electric motor. We hope for some details in the near future.
Kia Sorento PHEV 2024 Design
When it comes to the overall design, we don’t expect any particular difference compared to standard models. This includes both mechanics and aesthetics. In terms of the visual appearance, we count on the same styling, which has been presented in March and it brings a completely new styling, which takes a lot of inspiration from the new Telluride. Still, there is also a decent amount of unique details, especially in terms of headlights, which feature a little bit more conventional design.
When it comes to the Kia Sorento PHEV 2024, we definitely count on a couple of exclusive details, which will accentuate its electrified character. Of course, we still don’t know the details, but we presume some revisions would be made on the grille, while some exclusive color options and wheels design seem like a certain thing.
Interior
Once again, it’s hard to expect any bigger change in this case. Naturally, the instrument cluster will be different and adapted to the PHEV setup. Other than that, we don’t expect to see bigger differences, except for new color options and similar things. Also, we presume the Kia Sorento PHEV 2024 might feature a little bit longer list of standard equipment compared to base gasoline models.
The new generation of this crossover features a 1.4-inch longer wheelbase, which in practice means more interior space. Our reliable sources suggest that the interior space won’t suffer, as the Korean manufacturer prepares a so-called skateboard battery layout.
All this means that you may count on a high-quality, with attractive dashboard and fine materials. At the same time, the cabin will be more spacious than before, as well as the cargo area. We count on a long list of standard features, including all kinds of latest tech goodies.
2024 Kia Sorento Release Date
As we already mentioned, the Kia Sorento PHEV 2024 is expected to hit the market by the end of the year. Details about the price are yet to come, but we hope some details will come soon.
