GMC Envoy 2024: Redesign and Price. Rumors about the comeback of this SUV has been circulating around for some time. More than a year ago, GM filed to trademark this nameplate again, which leads us to the conclusion that something is really cooking in GM’s kitchen. At this point, we don’t know anything for sure, so we will rely on rumors and our predictions. According to them, the new model could come already by the end of this year, as the GMC Envoy 2024.
Another thing that bothers us is the overall design of the new model. Obviously, it won’t be a typical SUV but rather a crossover. On the other side, it’s a little bit tricky to find its place in the current lineup, considering that the Acadia has been downsized with the last redesign. When it comes to things that seem pretty certain, one of the things that come to mind is the engine lineup, which will consist of much smaller units compared to the previous generations, which were real gas guzzlers. Once again, take the following paragraphs with a big reserve.
GMC Envoy 2024 Engines
The main reason for discontinuation of the previous Envoy was the powertrain lineup, which consisted of large and thirsty engines. Therefore, the new GMC Envoy 2024 engine lineup will feature much smaller units. Of course, a well-known 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower seems like a safe pick, but we won’t exclude the possibility to see a smaller and more efficient 2.0-liter turbo-four, despite it has been discontinued recently in the case of Traverse.
When it comes to GMC Envoy 2024 gas mileage, the V6 is pretty decent and returns around 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Of course, a turbo-four would be even better in this aspect.
GMC Envoy 2024 Design
The first thing that comes to mind about the GMC Envoy 2024 is the base design. While the original models were body-on-frame SUVs, the new model will be a modern unibody crossover. Speaking of the unibody platform, the one that comes to mind is a well-known C1 architecture.
Still, keep in mind that Acadia already rides on this platform and that it has been downsized with the last redesign. Therefore, the new GMC Envoy 2024 may actually be a full-size crossover, a flagship model that rides on a stretched version of this platform, just like it’s the case with Chevy Traverse. In practice, this would mean around 121 inches in wheelbase, which promises a lot of space on the inside.
GMC Envoy 2024 Interior Dimensions
The biggest benefit form such a long wheelbase will definitely be generous interior space. If the GMC Envoy 2024 is about to ride on a stretched version of the C1 platform, we are pretty sure it would feature the same or very similar interior dimensions as Chevy Travers. This means three spacious rows of seats. In the aforementioned crossover, the first row features around 41 inches of legroom. The second row is also quite spacious, as it offers around 38.5 inches. There is the third row, which also offers a decent amount of legroom, more than most 3-row crossovers. You may count on 33.5 inches, which seems okay even for taller passengers.

When it comes to the cargo area, numbers will be respectable. We have no doubt that there will be more than 20 cubic feet behind the third and almost 60 cubic feet behind the second row. The overall cargo volume should get pretty close to 100 cubic feet, which would be some of the highest ratings in the class.
Styling and Interior Design
When it comes to aesthetics, there is no doubt that the GMC Envoy 2024 would be completely fitted to the brand’s newest design language. This means a pretty bold appearance, with a heavy influence from GMC’s latest pickup truck, Sierra 1500 in particular. On the other side, the rest of the body should come in a typical wagon layout. Also, we have no doubt that the flagship Denali trim will come with loads of exclusive styling details.
When it comes to the GMC Envoy 2024 interior, we also count on a lot of inspiration from the brand’s current lineup. We have no doubt that GMC will tend to improve the overall quality, which isn’t on the highest level in the current model. A long list of standard equipment is expected as well.
Release Date and Price
At this point, the GMC Envoy 2024 is just a speculation, as we are still waiting to hear something from the officials on this matter. Unofficial reports suggest the new model could come already by the end of this year. When it comes to the price, base models should go somewhere between 32.000 and 35.000 dollars.
