Dodge Durango 2024: Redesign and Release Date. The Dodge Durango 2024 redesign will definitely be one of the most interesting things to see from FCA in the next year. The famous nameplate has been in use for many years and it looks like the new model will come back to its roots. What this means is that we are once again about to see a more traditional design approach, a body-on-frame layout. The new model will be produced in the same assembly as the upcoming Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, which clearly indicates that three models will have a lot of things in common, particularly in terms of mechanics.
On the other side, the exterior and interior designs should introduce Dodge’s new styling philosophy, considering that we have seen a new model from this manufacturer for a quite long time. Also, the new model will be notably bigger, which promises more space on the inside as well.
Dodge Durango 2024 Redesign
Although we are still waiting to see some Dodge Durango 2024 spy photos, it is pretty clear that the next generation will bring a lot of significant changes. As we already mentioned, the new model will switch to a body-on-frame platform, just it was the case with models before the current generation. Of course, it’s not hard to conclude that the new model will be heavily based on the new Ram 1500. Count on a lot of parts shared, while some aesthetical similarities seem possible as well. Dodge hasn’t released a new model for a quite long time, so we are still waiting to see how the new design language will look like.
We might once again see many things shared with Ram models, particularly at the front. The rest of the vehicle should come in a typical SUV manner. We count on full-size dimensions, with proportions similar to the new Wagoneer.
Interior
When it comes to the Dodge Durango 2024 interior, things will be much different compared to the current model. The first thing that comes to mind is that we should see more space on the inside. The current model is already pretty big, but the new model is about to feature more than 120 inches in wheelbase. We definitely expect more legroom in all three rows, though the current model is already quite decent. Also, we count on more cargo space compared to the current, already respectable 85 cubic feet of the overall volume. Three rows will be standard in the new model, and we also expect one more seat in the third row and total capacity for 8 passengers.
Of course, the new Dodge Durango 2024 won’t come with just more space on the inside, but also with completely new dashboard design. It’s hard to talk about details at this point, but we count on a lot of hi-quality materials and a bunch of tech goodies, advanced safety systems etc.
Dodge Durango 2024 Engines
When it comes to the powertrain, we count on familiar units in the offer. Base models will probably come with a familiar 3.6-liter V6 with around 305 horsepower, as well as with the eTorque system as a standard feature. On the other side, higher trims should come with a 5.7-liter HEMI engine, which is good for about 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.

We count on some hi-performance version in the offer. Some sources suggest a supercharged 6.2-liter engine, but that Dodge Durango 2024 Hellcat doesn’t look very likely in our eyes. More likely, we could see a new 7.0-liter HEMI V8, which is about to arrive in the near future, in the Rebel TRX.
Some sources also suggest a diesel version, with a familiar 3.0-liter unit that delivers around 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque.
Dodge Durango 2024 Release Date and Price
According to the latest reports, the Dodge Durango 2024 release date will be scheduled for the second half of 2024. Details about the price are still unavailable, but we presume that base versions will go between 45.000 and 50.000 dollars.
Dodge Durango and Grand Cherokee Go In Separate Ways
While the current generations of the two models share so many things, the upcoming models will be significantly different. While Durango is about to switch back to a body-on-frame platform, the new Grand Cherokee will remain on a unibody platform. It will become much more athletic, considering that it will ride on the Giorgio platform, the same one that underprints Alfa Romeo Stelvio.
The new Grand Cherokee will be lighter, more efficient and will be significantly improved in terms of athleticism. Also, it will be slightly bigger, so it should also come standard with three rows of seats. The engine lineup may include some brand-new engine options, such as the new turbo-inline-six, which should feature more than 500 horses. More details will be known in the near future.
