Under the hood of the Mitsubishi Outlander 2024 engineers will keep a 2.4-liter engine. A four-cylinder engine is producing 166 hp, which is not so competitive in the mid-size SUV market. The fuel economy is a good reason to consider it a good buy. With 27 mpg combined, it is one of the best models in its segment. The engine is paired with a CVT gearbox that sends power to front wheels. Optionally, you can pick the super All-Wheel Control as one of the best available upgrades. Towing capacity also suffers because of the size of engines. The maximum hauling potential of a four-pot mill is 1,500 lbs.
If you want more, you need to spend extra. With a 3.0-liter V6 unit, the towing capacity raises to 3,500 pounds. But, the engine is available only with a top of the line GT trim. We expect the same offer by the 2024 Outlander. In this case, the SUV gains 225 hp and 215 l-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is the only option, and the fuel economy of 27 mpg is achieved on the highway. Combined, the consumption jumps to 23 mpg.
Mitsubishi Outlander 2024 PHEV
Mitsubishi’s advanced technology leads to the development of the plug-in hybrid drivetrain. This system is based on a 2.0-liter petrol engine, which pairs a 60 kW twin electric motors for a total output of 117 hp and 137 lb-ft. The new concept will bring the latest technologies and higher ratings. For the mid-size SUV, this is just not enough.

After the latest update, the third-gen SUV is 185 inches long. Still, there is no too much space inside, especially with the third row up (10 cubic feet). Fold rear seats, and you get an extra 24 cu.ft. The new generation will increase the total cargo space. Also, if the company installs just a portion of what we see on the Engelberg Tourer platform, the new Outlander will be awesome. Onboard navigation is one of the best features we will find on the dashboard. Large touchscreen display and a lot of safety equipment are highlighted are also promised.

The current generation of the SUV is already six years old. By the time the Mitsubishi Outlander 2024, it will be a moment for the totally new model. The company already presented the concept and test mules are being tested so that the production could start shortly.
